Crest by the Shore of Great Ocean

Who doesn’t want to live by the Ocean in a palace or a Crest? Whenever these kinds of word come out in my mind I would take Isaac Newton’s saying "I was like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me" But there was not enough chances to make these words familiar with my knowledge of experiences. As a journalist of a reputed publication in Sydney I remain busy all the time throughout the year. So I decided to take holiday for a week to do scuba diving, fire camping and beach fun stuffs. So my wife suggested me a location near Victoria called Apollo Bay, I checked for some information about this areas beautiful spots and found the place very fascinating because Apollo bay is located by the bank of Great Ocean. Followed by our excitement we started our journey from Sydney towards the Great Ocean.



It was long driving experience from Sydney to Apollo bay; we took some break in every three or four hours. We were so excited that forgot to make any booking for resort. So I called up my friends and tried to get some information about Apollo Bays Hotels and resorts. They couldn’t help me too much with their little knowledge about Apollo Bay; I did a random search on Google and found some luxurious resorts in Apollo bay. Most of these resorts were far away from the beach but we wanted one nearby the beach with stunning view of the Great Ocean. So I made a booking of romantic gateway package in Whitecrest resort, within thirteen hours we reached at the beautiful place of Apollo Bay in Wongarra district. We got a warm reception from Whitecrest staffs with a chilled bottle of sparkling wine, some handmade chocolate and a bunch of flowers. We were overwhelmed by their hospitality and courtesy, also resort was nicely organised with every modern facilities including swimming pool, tennis court, basketball practice hoop and a reception room of billiards.



The very next day we woke up in the morning by the sounds of the majestic Bass Strait, enjoyed the spectacular view of Great Ocean from our resort’s balcony. Once I thought maybe I could have spend all of my time standing over the balcony with a glass of wine. However we took a long walk in the beach by early morning, lots of tourist were wandering here over there and some of them were busy with surfing, scuba diving etc. Both of us were having a real good time enjoying the beauty of Great Ocean and its wave breaking sound. Besides wandering in the beach we also visited some wonderful spots of Apollo Bay, key locations are the Twelve Apostles & Lord Ard Gorge, Cape Otway lighthouse, The Otway National Park, the Vibrant seaside village of Apollo Bay, lake Elizabeth and the Otway Harvest trail. We were feeling lucky that we chose such a nice place to make our summer holiday into very special moments of our life. All I can say is "What a great place to stay! The view was a treat to wake up to, falling asleep to the Ocean was very relaxing, will remember every moments of the tour till the end of our memory"
